about

"NOTES - Sketches from The ROBOT Labs" is and ongoing project. Think of it like lo-fi ROBOT Boy's Musical Sketchbook. Each track represents an idea, experiment or just a quick recording of spontaneous noodling. The tracks are often rough, noisy and for the most part, unedited.

NOTES No.5 came about one rainy Sunday afternoon while I was testing out a newly acquired Novation Bass Station. I sequenced a simple baseline on the JUNO-106 and then started experimenting with lead sounds. I added 808 drum samples from a Roland JV-35, started playing chords with cheesy choir samples and before long I had the makings of a little synth-pop ditty.

One of these days I'll go back and clean up the track, add some vocal and maybe re-release it. Maybe.

Have listen. If you like what you hear please consider supporting the effort.

about

lo-fi ROBOT Boy British Columbia

lo-fi ROBOT Boy makes music using (mostly) 80s keyboards, synths, and drum machines collected from flea markets, yard sales, and the dusty back rooms of music shops. Everything has knobs, sliders & smells like ozone.

VSTs and blue LEDs be damned!
